Though Adventure Time ended in 2018, four hour-long Adventure Time specials - each centered around different characters - have debuted on Max since then. Fionna says she wishes for something more magical than her boring life, and that kicks off some looks at the big multiverse adventure that awaits them. The first trailer shows Fionna and Cake in what looks like the regular world, where they are dealing with the humdrum of routine. This new series brings Fionna and Cake to the forefront, as they explore the multiverse with the former Ice King, Simon Petrikov. Still, the characters were so popular that they appeared in several other episodes, and many more genderbent versions of Adventure Time characters - like Marshall Lee, Prince Gumball, and Lumpy Space Prince - appeared. They first appeared in-series in a 2011 episode, though their world was revealed to be fanfiction written by the Ice King. The characters originally spawned from a comic drawn by Adventure Time character designer, Natasha Allegri.
That’s right, Fionna the Human and Cake the Cat now lead their very own series. The possible spin-off idea would be called “Adventure Time with Fionna and Cake” and would focus on the Fionna and Cake universe of the show created in the main Adventure Time universe by the Ice King himself (formerly Simon Petrikov before he got warped by the crown that gave him ice powers and lost his sanity) and follow the adventures of the adventurous human girl Fionna the Human Girl and her magical female cat companion named Cake the Cat through a different yet gender-bent version of Ooo with certain characters as their opposite gendered counterparts and would continue to delve into the Adventure Time multiverse in some ways and the show would be developed, executive produced, and co-created by Natasha Allegri, Rebecca Sugar, Pendleton Ward, Patrick McHale, Adam Muto, and Nick Jennings with Pendleton Ward, Patrick McHale, and Nick Jennings as series producers, Rebecca Sugar as songwriter and episode writer, Julia Pott as episode writer and storyboard artist, and other Adventure Time creative alumni joining in as episode writers and producers and storyboard artists and sometimes even voice actors for some episodes.įionna and Cake are ready for some some adventures across their version of Ooo along with a variety of quests and characters to encounter.Adventure Time is back - with a twist!
